Tomorrow night Merri Bek council is meeting to discuss the amended changes to the sports master plan they released for public feedback.

This is your chance to attend and hear what they have to say. We wish to acknowledge council for taking in the overwhelming public response our ’Save the track! campaign gathered. You should all be proud of your immediate action and support you showed.

CLAC/Harriers were responsible for
765 of the 876 survey responses to the draft plan and gave it an overall rating of poor 1-2 stars. That’s just under 90% of the return in a draft that included Cricket, AFL, Swimming and table tennis as other stakeholders.

The draft has the two ovals separate again and a full time synthetic track in place for years to come. This includes the need for maintainance and future track realignment and surface.

Going forward we need to ensure this maintaince is carried out in a timely manner, athlete safety is addressed with any shared spaces and the continued push for a new track at some point the future.

The agenda with more information is included in this message to download and read.

Anyone wishing to attend the council meeting tomorrow night is most welcome to.
